Scott James Kicks Off Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Schedule this Week
BRIGHT, INDIANA - January 30, 2006 - “The Silver Shark” Scott James will
set out on his quest to capture the 2006 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
National Championship this Friday evening at the Golden Isles Speedway in
Brunswick, Georgia.
Scott, who finished fifth in the 2005 point standings and captured the Rookie of
the Year Award, is just planning on competing in the February 3 event at GIS,
even though there are three additional events planned at the 5/8-mile Georgia
facility. The Lucas Oil Series event this Friday evening will pay a cool $10,000
to the victor. For more information concerning this
show, point your web browser to www.lucasdirt.com and
www.goldenislesspeedway.com.
Following GIS, the action quickly turns south to the East Bay Raceway Park
in Gibsonton, Florida. Scott is slated to enter all six nights of racing
action during the 30th edition of the popular ‘Winternationals’ at the
1/3-mile oval deemed as “The Clay by the Bay.” The Lucas Oil Late Model
Dirt Series will sanction each of the six events from February 6-11, with
only the final three counting towards the yearlong point battle. The first
three evenings will pay $5,000 to win, with the final three points races
paying $7,000, $10,000, and $12,000 respectively. You can learn more about
the weeklong racing program at East Bay by pointing your web browser to
www.lucasdirt.com and www.eastbayracewaypark.com.
Scott’s busy Speedweek schedule will conclude on February 13-18 at the
Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida. The UMP Racing Series will
sanction four events at the 1/2-mile, high-banked oval, while the World of
Outlaws Late Model Series will rule over two events on February 16 & 18.
The first three events of the week at VSP will pay $5,000 to the winner,
while the final three shows will pay $10,000 to the driver who is lucky
enough to reach victory lane. To learn more about the shows at the Volusia
Speedway Park, please visit www.woolms.com and www.volusiaspeedwaypark.com.
Below is the racing schedule for the driver of the Powell Motorsports /
Baylor Trucking / JamesArt Designs #83 Rocket / Jay Dickens Grand Prix. In

“I am very excited to get the season underway,” commented James recently.
“I have heard a lot of things about Golden Isles being hard on motors and I
really want to save our big motor for Volusia. That is the reasoning behind
only racing on Friday at Brunswick before leaving for East Bay. I have
never been there before, so things could change, but we are only planning on
racing in the Lucas Oil show there. I think the new Jay Dickens powerplants
that we have our going to make a tremendous difference this year.
Hopefully, we can run strong in the Lucas Oil shows and come out of Florida
in good shape in the points battle.”
