What's going on with WMR?
The question right now should be "What is not going on at WMR?"
Everyone at WMR is very anxious for the racing season to start, but before it
can start, there is a lot of work to be done.
Just to catch everyone up, we will flash back to November and lead up to today.
In November, the team sat down and designed a plan on what we wanted to
accomplish over the winter and for the upcoming season. Our first goal was to
enhance our sponsorship program. We have worked very hard on this program and
have been successful. Two new sponsors, Campbellsville Overhead Door and 99.9
WVLC The Big Dawg have come aboard our team. We are very excited to have them as
a part of the WMR team. We are currently in the process of working with some
other companies, but have not yet sealed any deals.
In December, we were thinking of finding a new place to call home for the car.
It's home (The Race Shop) was currently at Dennis and Billy Selby's shop in
Russell County. We thought it would be more convenient to get something a little
closer to Whitney's home in Dunnville, so that he would be able to spend more
time working on the car. We greatly appreciate the Selby's hospitality and all
of the good times will be missed. Currently, we are in the works with Doug
Tarter in renovating a 5,000 sq ft. race shop. Doug Tarter and the Tarter Family
have been very gracious to let us be a part of the renovation and allowing us to
have a new shop to call home.
Our third goal was to design a website. We are very happy with our new website,
and hope you, the fans, enjoy it and keep up with what is going on with WMR.
Now that we have recapped the past, let's move to the future. In a couple of
weeks, we will be able to move into our new race shop and get settled. We will
post pictures of the new shop on the website so be looking for them soon. In
April, we hope to receive the newest member of our team, that being a second
MasterSbilt car. We are excited about this new car and what it can add to our
We look forward to seeing you at the races.......
