Rain Cut Short Racing Action at Ocala Speedway By: Patricia Curd Ocala, Fl - Before the rain hit there was some great racing action. In the four cylinder’s they were racing three and four wide swapping the lead back and forth coming out on top #55 Justin Durbin, a close second #47 Richard Kuhn, followed by #30 Shawn Evans, #06 Karl Born, 28E Brandon Elwood. Street Stock action was very exciting the twenty car field was partially inverted, putting the winner of the first heat Michael Stalnaker in the ninth position. As they took the green the field was looking pretty racy on lap twelve #8 Michael Stalnaker jumped on the outside an never looked back. The race was on for second and #71 Mark Mitchell answered the call coming in third #57 Davey Kinsey, fourth #96 Tommy Roberts, fifth 17 David Chastain. In Sportsmen action they shook things up a bit they pulled the total invert pill. Coming out on top #08 William Edwards, taking home second #69 Don Milam, third went to #07 Frank Buchanan, fourth #27 Kyle Maynard, fifth #22 Jeromy Finegan. The last race of the night was cut short by rain would be the ever popular V-8’s starting on the pole #2 Dean Jarvis he took the lead at the green, behind him there was some awesome racing. On the last lap a hard crash out of turn four #83x Gary Kissick took a wild ride and flipped on his side for a brief moment the car was on fire but in a move only Gary could do he jumped out and waved to the crowd. #2 Dean Jarvis took the win coming home second #13 Davey Kinsey, third #7 Moose Alderman, fourth #6x Anthony Abney, fifth #83 Joe Boyd. This Saturday, May 7th, we will have the Modified and Powder Puff make-up races plus all regular divisions. |
