MIKE SWIMS PREPARES FOR CHEMOTHERAPY

WOODSTOCK, GA. - January 18, 2006 - Longtime Dixie and Rome Speedway Promoter Mike Swims is preparing for chemotherapy to treat a malignant tumor in the same intestinal area that he was treated for five years ago.

Swims recently underwent routine testing, which occurs every 18 months. The latest test was performed prior to the recent removal of his gallbladder. During those tests, doctors performed a biopsy on a mass, which later turned out to be a reoccurrence of the same malignancy that Swims successfully battled in 2000 -2001.

"I have a great teams of doctors that I have maintained for the last five years," Swims said. "After that length of time, they did not expect this to reappear, but thank God they found it, so we can get started with treatments and get this behind us."

Swims has an upbeat attitude going into the treatments, and says his faith in God, and the prayers from thousands will get him through this once again.

"I have been blessed to make many friends in racing all over the country and I need their prayers," Swims said. "It was the by Grace of God that we beat this thing five years ago and by His Grace we can be victorious again. I want to thank everyone for their prayers and support."

Swims said that the 2006 racing season at Dixie and Rome Speedways will go on as planned with the 2006 schedule set to be released very soon. He also expects his consulting role with the Lucas Oil Series to remain the same, as doctors have said that his work schedule should be close to normal.

"My doctors have told me that I should be able to maintain my normal work schedule other than 12 chemotherapy treatments, which all occur one day out of every other week for 24 weeks," Swims said. "The Dixie and Rome Speedway schedule will be out soon, and Lucas Oil Late Model Series schedule has already been released. I have great support from my family and staff at the tracks, along with the folks at Lucas Oil. They've all been great, so everything on the business side should function pretty close to normal."

Cards and well wishes for Swims may be sent to P.O. Box 1818, Woodstock, GA 30188.
