Season Opener at Action Track Cures Winter’s Raceless Nights!

Drivers and race fans alike have waited all winter for the sound of roaring engines at the Terre Haute Action Track season opener, Saturday, April 8th. Midwest Sprint Car Series (MSCS) Non-wing Sprints, UMP Modifieds & Super Stocks will take part in the Wabash Valley Goodwill/ Clay, Owen, Vigo Solid Waste Spring Fling at the Action Track.

This traditional early spring race always brings a large field of the areas best sprint, mod, and super stock drivers to the legendary ˝ mile Action Track. These drivers know a win at Terre Haute can catapult an up-and-coming drivers’ career, making for some of the fiercest racing competition in the Midwest. The Terre Haute Action Track has been the launch pad for many racing legends including Mario Andretti, A.J. Foyt, Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman, Jeff Gordon, Kasey Kahne and J.J. Yeley.

The Spring Fling is the first of fourteen 2006 points races for the MSCS series. Racing for $1500 to win, these sprints are sure to fight to the finish line!

UMP Modifieds will begin their 7-race points’ chase for the championship at Terre Haute with the Spring Fling as well. 2005 UMP Modified track champion Brian Shaw will try to maintain his championship reign as we kick off an exciting season.

With a sizeable donation of clothing or household items to the Wabash Valley Goodwill, fans can save $5 off general admission and reserved tickets to the event, regularly $20!

Fans can enjoy the history and tradition of the legendary ˝ mile with an Infield Family Pack, 2 adult and 2 children’s infield tickets for only $30!

Gates open at 5pm, racing starts at 7pm.
