Ray Cook Leads Wire to Wire and takes home the Toilet Bowl! Ray Cook of Brasstown N.C. came to Clarksville PayStorm.com Speedway with one thing on his mind! That was to sit on the Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic Throne and take home the $10,000.00 that goes along with it. With snow flakes in the air drivers and fans brave the strong winds and cool weather to be on hand for the third annual running of the Toilet Bowl Classic presented by Patriot Chevrolet. Quick sixteen drivers were locked in for the main event from Fridays qualifying heats but the rest of the 40 plus drivers in attendance would start the night off with the B-Main Events. With only 3 positions transferring and 12 cars for the first 12 lap B-main the crowd was in for a thrill. From the start local favorite #1 Tony Albright took to the lead and wouldn’t look back going on to win and transferring to the A-main event. Also transferring was #38 Chad Bone of Shelbyville TN and # 53D Perry Delaney of Bush Creek, TN. B-main 2 would turn out to be a survival of the fittest as on 5 of the scheduled 12 starters would finish the 12 lap race. in the end it would be #112 Michael Luna of Sparta with the win and joining him for transfer spots was #98 Eric Hickerson of Linden and 7x Gil Smith of Nashville setting the final spots for the 3rd annual Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic. With Cook and Tyler Landers setting the pace to the initial green the racing action was set. Side by side, mud slinging, snow falling, one by one down the drain they went. Finishing second was Mike Marlar who raced side by side with the third place finisher Landers. The Tuckasee Toilet trophy is actually a working toilet! Fans applauded as Cook took the time to show off his unique trophy and actually made time to have his picture taken while sitting on the championship throne! Fans weathed the ice cold wind which was blowing at least 40 miles an hour at times. We asked some of our die-hard racing fans (as they left the track) what they thought of the Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Late Model race and their replies were all the same, It was dirt track racing at its best! Dirt Track racing action returns Saturday March 17th to Clarksville Stormpay.com Speedway when the gates open at noon and hot laps begin at 2:30pm. for more information on this event or any other Speedway news call 931-645-2522 or visit www.clarksvillespeedway.com.
