Pine Valley to Host Special Texas Sized Free Pro Test and Tune Session to be Held a Week Before Amalie Oil Texas Nationals

PVR to open for the 2005 season March 4,2005

Lufkin, TX - 2/24 - They do everything big in Texas. That’s why Pine Valley Raceway is hosting a Texas sized Free Pro Test and Tune session March 24-26. Located in Lufkin, Texas, Pine Valley Raceway is a ¼ mile facility and is the perfect venue to host the event to coincide with the Amalie Oil Texas Nationals scheduled for April 1st and 2nd.

Special events for the weekend also include an Outlaw Pro Mod Gamblers race, a special Erson Cams Top Sportsman race and a live band on Friday, and special races for Mallory Top Dragster and Erson Cams Top Sportsman on Saturday.

A new addition to the IHRA family, Pine Valley Raceway promises to offer plenty of hospitality and family fun. “We thought this would be a great way to offer something unique for spectators and racers,” said promoter George Gulitti. “And timing it a week ahead of the Amalie Oil Texas Nationals just makes sense. Pro racers can test and tune, and we’re also offering up some special events for Mallory Top Dragster and Erson Cams Top Sportsman. It’s a little something for everybody.”

IHRA Vice President of Racing Operations Skooter Peaco sees it as a preview for the 2005 IHRA Hooters Drag Racing Series national event schedule. “We’re in San Antonio the following week, and Pine Valley has found a way to tie into that. There are some teams testing now, but they are testing in ideal atmospheric conditions. This will save a lot of teams the extra cost of preseason testing and they will have better data to use to their advantage in San Antonio. The track will also host a Mr. Gasket Pro-Am Tour event in April, so it’s great to see that the sportsman racers getting a chance to take advantage of this opportunity as well.”

Pine Valley will open for the race season on March 4, 2005. Bracket scoring will begin on April 2, 2005.
