Late Model Driver Robbie Scott Announces New Sponsor

By Jarrod Lehman

Shinnston, WV - March 7, 2007 - West Virginia standout dirt Late Model driver Robbie Scott, 30, of Shinnston, WV who will be racing with the Independent Racing Series (IRS) for the Rookie of the Year title as well as taking a shot at the championship, has announced a new sponsor. The second-generation driver will be racing the team’s Rocket Chassis/Mopars by Stanton #18 sponsored by Amos Paving, Atlas Autobody Parts LLC., Patricia Feltz, Walt's Inc., Advance Auto Parts of Shinnston, WV, Hoosier Tire, Rocket Chassis and Scott Sign and Design.

“We are excited to announce the addition of Patricia Feltz of Clarkston, Michigan to our list of dedicated supporters on the Mighty Motorsports Race Team,” commented Scott. “I met Mrs. Feltz through my sister, Cheryl Wheeler. Patricia has never and been to a dirt Late Model race and thought it sounded interesting. So my sister brought her out to our shop and she was very impressed with our operation and wanted to now how to get her name on one of these hot rods.”

“My sister then said, ‘I'll introduce you to Robbie and Dad and you can discuss this more with them’. After a short talk we came to an agreement. Mrs. Feltz is excited about following us on our Rookie of the Year bid with the IRS Tour and proud to be a part of our team. I feel that our deciding to follow the IRS Series and the support of Lehman Motorsports Services helped to secure this deal.”

Mrs. Feltz, a successful businessperson along with her late husband, Butch Feltz, only opted for a ‘Special Thanks Patricia Feltz’ designation on Scott’s Rocket Chassis #18.

“I came up with a layout she liked and here we are. This is something that was totally unexpected and took us off guard but we are thrilled with Patricia's generosity and support as well as our other dedicated sponsors. With the difficulties a small budget team faces in this sport this is a huge blessing. We hope that this relationship with Patricia will grow into a long term sponsorship agreement. I'm sure it will blossom into a great friendship.”

“We are fortunate to have had several of our sponsors for a number or of years. Amos Paving has been with us since 1993, Advance Auto Parts of Shinnston WV since 2002, Walt's Inc. of Shinnston WV is in his third season and KJ Woody of Atlas Autobody Parts LLC. is entering his second season with our team. I also have to mention long time supporter and close friend Rocky Hinzman and his son Shane, he has been a savior at times.”

Scott also wanted his fans to be aware of some interesting news from one of his sponsors.

“One of our sponsors, Atlas Autobody Parts of Buckhannon WV, has added two new product lines to their already large base of automotive replacement parts list,” revealed Scott. “They are now offering a full line of aftermarket accessories and performance products, including crate engine specials to accommodate the ever growing crate engine classes.” Atlas Autobody Parts can be reached at 1-866-548-7900 or at

Scott is also looking forward to the inaugural season with the new IRS sanctioning body.

“As far as the 2007 season is concerned we are getting pumped to tackle the IRS Series and Rookie of the Year chase,” explained Scott. “We have had very positive feedback with our decision to follow the series. It will be a difficult challenge but one that we welcome.”

The IRS will kick their season on Friday April 13 at Jeff Norris’ Hilltop Speedway in Millersburg, OH for a $5,000 to win feature event.

“Also we are awaiting the arrival of a second Rocket Chassis and are excited to have the option of a second horse in the stable, so to speak. It is something we have never had before, each car will have different front-end packages but both will be powered with Mopars by Stanton.”

Scott can’t say enough positives about Stanton.

“Our engine builder Gary Stanton, whom we have been involved with since 2003 and is second to none in my eyes, is nearing completion on freshening our engines,” offered Scott. “We our proud to be one of few teams representing the Dodge effort out there. They are awesome, reliable engines. Since switching to Mopars exclusively in 2003 we have added two more track championships, six special event wins including a win with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to our resume. They're powerful yet smooth and drivable, so there is no sacrificing one for another.”

“Our Mopars by Stanton and Rockets by Mark Richards Enterprises has us feeling very confident about this season. We do however wish we had a hauler to accommodate both of our cars and crew. However we do feel very blessed to have what we have to race with.”

Coming soon to Mighty Motorsports and Robbie Scott will be all new T-Shirts designed and produced by Slavic Custom Shirts & Decals. “Ron Slavic is a good friend and has always handled our apparel needs,” said Scott. “I feel he is one of the best and his work reflects that.”

Scott also announced that a new Mighty Motorsports website will debut soon. Additionally, Scott will be spotlighted in a feature story in an upcoming issue of Dirt Late Model magazine.
